Position Overview

C-17 Field Service Representative – Boeing Aerospace Operations – BGS is hiring a Field Service Representative to provide on‑site C‑17 company representation and technical support to the Joint‑Base Lewis‑McChord team in conjunction with the C‑17 Globe master Integrated Sustainment Partnership (G3) contract. The role requires willingness to travel on short‑notice to domestic and international locations, possible relocation, and the ability to work in a demanding on‑call, 24‑hour operational environment.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Provide on‑site C‑17 company representation and technical support on C‑17 aircraft systems to the US Air Force at JBLM.
  • Utilize multi‑disciplined technical expertise and company knowledge to assist the customer.
  • Sustain proficiency in the operation and maintenance of company products by investigating technical problems, determining causes, and developing corrective actions for customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret and assist the customer in using support data, documents, and provide technical on‑the‑job training.
  • Act as the on‑site liaison between the company and customer personnel of varying backgrounds to resolve significant technical and operational issues.
  • Work unsupervised for extended periods in varied cultural/economic conditions.
  • Provide technical field support for C‑17 aircraft systems including hydraulics, propulsion, landing gear, and mission systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting procedures for avionics systems and resolve maintenance and operational issues.
  • Interpret technical documents, monitor product performance, and develop ad‑hoc training on avionics topics.
  • Analyze technical data and evaluate maintenance procedures.
  • Work any shift, weekends, or on‑call as required, including potential deployments to US or foreign locations.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting C‑17A aircraft.
  • Minimum 5 years of knowledge of mechanical, environmental, avionics, flight control, and electrical/electronic systems.
  • Ability to function in a demanding on‑call, around‑the‑clock operational environment.
  • Travel up to 25% to other operating locations for operations, maintenance, and recovery of aircraft.
  • Willingness to work any shift, occasional overtime, and weekends.
  • Willingness and ability to deploy or relocate to various locations on short‑notice; failure to comply may be considered resignation.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting C‑17, electrical/electronic, environmental, and avionics systems.
  • Previous military experience or extensive familiarity with military operations and written maintenance procedures.
  • Experience with C‑17 field or depot operations.
  • Production Superintendent experience.
  • Experience using maintenance data collection and analysis (G081).
  • Extensive knowledge of C‑17 Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).
Security Clearance

Position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required). An active clearance within the past 24 months is considered active.

Travel and Relocation

Travel up to 25% to other operating locations and willingness to relocate on short‑notice are essential. Relocation assistance is not available.

Pay & Benefits

Pay range: $91,800 – $124,200. Additional benefits include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off. Eligibility varies by location, hire date, and applicable agreements.
