Duties
* You will make plans that affect the organization's long range goals, objectives, and direction, and require an analytical approach in order to forecast future trends and outcomes.
* You will coordinate and integrate the work of lower organizational units, each of which may involve distinct areas of responsibility and require different skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the work.
* You will help to identify where correction action is needed and provide assistance and advise branch members, division leadership team, and division-wide project leads and engineers.
* You will work closely with other supervisors and managers outside the unit to further activity and agency programs.
* You will manage and supervise in a complex/dynamic team environment and personnel of varying disciplines and grade levels.
* You will mentor, evaluate and coach government employees providing expert engineering oversight and technical direction to employees assigned to the Division.
* You will liaison with sponsors, customers and end-users to assure products and services meet Fleet readiness requirements and assure they remain current and relevant.
* You will utilize effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to conduct briefings for senior staff and flag officers, senior government and contractor representatives. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12/13 grade level or ND-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector serving as a technical expert in Undersea Warfare (USW) or Combat Systems design, engineering, integration and field service, while also performing project leadership and structured system engineering.
Examples of qualifying experience include:
* Demonstrated management or leadership experience for complex/dynamic projects and teams
* Demonstrated skills at planning, organizing and delegating engineering projects / work

Education Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics,…
