Manufacturing Engineer, PCBA; Starlink

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, PCBA (STARLINK)

The Manufacturing Engineer will lead the PCBA manufacturing activities for Starlink hardware, ensuring high reliability, quality, and cost-effective production.

• Process engineering position responsible for PCBA manufacturing for Starlink hardware
• Manage new product introduction of PCBA assemblies, qualify new equipment, design line layout, design tooling, work closely with design engineers, and drive design for manufacturing (DFM) feedback
• Implement, simplify, and automate high reliability manufacturing processes to enable independent production teams
• Identify trends and opportunities to optimize output, enhance quality, and reduce cost of manufacturability
• Drive volume production processes including manufacturing execution, nonconforming product management, configuration control, traceability tracking, yield improvement, and process control
• Manage work instructions, process documentation, and process training

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science, manufacturing engineering, or another engineering discipline
• 1+ years of professional experience in manufacturing process engineering, surface-mount technology (SMT), accelerated testing, design for reliability, or PCB design and layout

• High-volume production experience or ramping a production line as part of a cross-functional team
• Hands-on experience in SMT or related PCBA processes, knowledge of IPC manufacturing standards
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and manufacturing metrics (e.g., CPK, yield, OEE) in production environments
• Track record of developing new processes, improving efficiencies, and successfully transferring them to production in a fast-paced environment
• Competency with SQL and Python
• Experience with NX or other CAD software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a demanding, fast-paced setting

• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 25 lbs unassisted
• Willingness to work weekends and extended hours as needed

Pay ranges (Hardware Engineer):

• Level I: $105,000 - $120,000 per year
• Level II: $115,000 - $145,000 per year
