Salary Range: $30.00 To $35.00 Hourly

We are seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to work onsite at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) Tacoma, Washington, to support the hazardous waste program.

• Management of hazardous waste labeling, collection, storage, and transportation.
• Experience using HMID and Enterprise, Environmental, Safety, Occupational Health
  - Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) programs for tracking hazardous waste, approving processes, preparing shipments, data pulls and ad-hoc reporting.
• Assist with compilation of monthly report of office activities.
• Customer support including answering phones and emails.

• Valid Commercial Driver License (Class A or
  
  B) with Hazmat certification or ability to obtain once hired
• Current 40-hr HAZWOPER or ability to obtain once hired
• Knowledgeable of the procedures and precautions necessary for moving, handling, packaging, and shipping of hazardous waste (HW)
• Working knowledge of Federal environmental statutes and State-specific regulations pertaining to HW and hazardous materials
• Familiarity with OSHA, DoD, and Installation Storage, Handling, and Transportation regulations preferred
• Ability to drive forklifts and operate warehouse tools and equipment (i.e. drum lifts, pallet jack, etc.)
• Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required
• Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred or the ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required
• Fieldwork includes, but not limited to, outside weather conditions and walking on uneven terrain
