About the roleStep into a rewarding role as a Nursing Assistant where you will bring excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors.
You will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. Full training is provided so, along with the above, all you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological product.
Responsibilities- Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
- Create a donor experience they’ll love and want to come back. Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
- Set up machines and collections equipment
- Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
- Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation
- Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets
No previous blood collection experience is required. Our paid training program blends hands‑on practice with online learning to set you up for success. What’s essential is your passion for delivering an exceptional donor experience, supported by proven customer‑facing experience that you can draw on in every interaction.
Key Skills & RequirementsStrong Customer Service
Experience:
Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring a friendly, approachable, and positive atmosphere for visitors and donors.
Front-Facing Role Confidence: Comfortable and confident in engaging with individuals in-person, providing a high level of service with a welcoming attitude.
Willingness to Take on New Challenges: Motivated to assist in various tasks and support team goals, helping achieve collection and operational targets.
Eager to Learn: Open to gaining new skills, particularly clinical competencies (training will be provided).
Team-Oriented: Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture, fostering a positive work environment.
Flexible Scheduling: Ability to work a rotating Mon‑Sun fortnightly roster, including weekend and afternoon shifts.
Ability to work comfortably with needles, blood, and biological materials as part of the role.
Capable of lifting between 9‑22.7kg and frequently standing, walking, and bending to set up and pack down machines and blood products.

We can only progress with applicants who do not have any pre-approved leave during the first 10 weeks of training.
