Position: Insomniac - Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge 2026 Seasonal Entertainment Makeup Artist

Job Summary

Entertainment Makeup Artist – Focus on costume and character makeup for Insomniac events. Must be a proactive self‑starter who loves dance culture and event operations.

Responsibilities
  • Execute approved makeup looks for performers.
  • Duplicate work regularly with the team to ensure conformity.
  • Cooperate with lead artist or director to achieve desired end effect.
  • Apply makeup during show runs, rehearsals, preparations, and changes.
  • Consult entertainment department look books to choose appropriate materials.
  • Ensure looks are photo ready in day and night settings.
  • Assist team members with quick changes and touch‑ups during runs.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety policies.
  • Document looks by photos or makeup sheets.
  • Perform tasks and projects assigned by the lead makeup artist or director.
  • Clean up, repack, and store makeup and related items after each show.
  • Possibly use prosthetics, SFX techniques, airbrush, and own equipment.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in cosmetology or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of makeup tools and latest industry techniques.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of live entertainment and Insomniac brands/shows.
  • Experience in entertainment, theater, theme park, or live events is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Some travel may be requested.
Work Environment
  • Noise levels are loud; busy environments.
  • Ability to tolerate drastic temperature climates.
  • Frequent travel on holidays, evenings, and weekends as required.
Salary

Hiring Salary Range: $16.66–$32.00 USD per hour.
