Surveillance Supervisor

Under the supervision of the Surveillance Manager, the Observer I cooperates with all other departments to maintain the integrity of the casino using clandestine surveillance operations. The Observer I writes comprehensive reports and logs, conducts investigations, operates cameras in the monitor room, and utilizes computers for routine paperwork. The role requires full knowledge of Federal and Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS), CTGC‑approved procedures, and all casino game rules and procedures.

The Observer must also be adept at using electronic surveillance equipment and may receive on‑the‑job training for installing and maintaining surveillance equipment to qualify for the next tier of the career path.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of all table games or ability to pass table games training within 90 days of employment.
• Minimum 12 months of satisfactory experience in surveillance, casino operations, casino cage, casino security, or table games.
• Cash handling experience in a casino or bank environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility for the Tribe’s vehicle insurance.
• Qualified for a tribal gaming license under Tribal, State, and Federal requirements.
• Compliance with a healthy drug‑free lifestyle per Tribal policy and the Commission Personnel Addendum.

• All table game rules and cheats; basic strategy; methods of cheating.
• Mathematical/accounting skills for computing table game payoffs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic knowledge of Class II and Class III gaming regulations and rules under IGRA, NIGC, CCT Tribal/State Compact, and CTGC.
• Basic network navigation and general office practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication and report‑writing skills.
• Ability to operate office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, multi‑line phone systems, and handheld radios.
• Confidential information handling and teamwork.
• High concentration and productivity during long periods of independent work.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply gaming rules, regulations, policies, and tribal, federal, and state requirements.
• Observe and investigate, adapt to organizational changes, meet deadlines.

• Function indoors in a primarily sedentary role; sufficient ambulation to move within office and locations.
• Arm, hand, and finger dexterity for operating computer keyboard, surveillance equipment, and office tools.
• Visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens; high observatory skills.
• Hearing and speaking skills for individual and group communication.
• Manual dexterity for daily job duties.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, concentrate, stand for prolonged periods, walk near electricity, lift or move up to 25 pounds, bend, squat, and reach.
• Ability to travel to multiple casino sites as required.
• Tolerance for frequent exposure to tobacco smoke.
