Job SummaryThe Associate Private Client Advisor partners and assists Private Client Advisors with a focus on our Mass Affluent client base. Responsibilities include planning and financial wellness as the basis of methodology and leading with these concepts when providing investment solutions to new and existing clients. Establish strong partnerships with Retail Branch Managers, teams, and Centers of Influence, and maintain working relationships with all partners.
EssentialFunctions
- Partner with a Private Client Advisor in coordinating and delivering all aspects of investment product delivery within assigned Branch(es) for Mass Affluent clients, including client management, service delivery, and resource maximization to support needs‑based sales production.
- Actively participate in branch huddles and debriefs and provide in‑person client services within the branch environment.
- Assist the Private Client Advisor in engaging licensed and non‑licensed branch personnel to identify investment referral opportunities from new clients and the existing bank client base.
- Develop a complete understanding of Key Investment Services solutions to support cross‑selling opportunities and learn core bank products to generate referrals back to the Consumer Bank.
- Utilize a consultative sales process and assessment tools to provide comprehensive, needs‑based financial solutions to clients by offering a range of investment solutions and partnering with banking center staff.
- Help attain sales production and referral goals by working the book of business, lead lists, and closing on referrals through financial planning.
- Partner with the Private Client Advisor to grow year‑over‑year revenue and develop a strong Center of Influence strategy that leverages partnerships with the Retail Bank.
- Perform other duties as assigned; duties may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Comply with all Key Bank policies and procedures, acting professionally, ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest and acting in the best interests of clients.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- Experience in financial services or related field (preferred).
- FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) – Upon Hire (required).
- FINRA License S7 – Upon Hire (required).
- FINRA License S66 or S63 and S65 – Upon Hire (required).
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) – (preferred).
- Resident State Insurance Licenses (Life, Variable, and Accident/Health or Life & Disability) – Upon Hire (required).

If licenses are not held at the time of hire, obtaining them within the specified timeframe is a condition of continued employment. Failure to do so may result in termination. - Promotion to a Private Client Advisor role is not permitted until full licensing requirements are met.
- Conduct due diligence research for a variety of complex investment portfolio disciplines; build investment cases to inform clients.
- Broad knowledge of client and partner characteristics and needs within the bank‑based investment market space.
- Demonstrated ability to sell products and services to investment clients; evidence of strong sales results.
- Strong client‑centric focus.
- Proven ability to work as a collaborative team member.
- Ability to use standard office equipment and proprietary financial services systems.

Physical DemandsGeneral office: prolonged sitting, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks or computer bags up to 10 lbs. Requires face‑to‑face communication.
Driving RequirementsMay need to drive to multiple locations in a single day; a valid driver’s license is required.
Compensation and Benefits• Eligible to earn commission and deferred incentive compensation.
• Base salary rate of $80,168.00 annually.
• Eligibility for short‑term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
