Fiscal Analyst 1 (FA1)
Recruitment #2026-6-2131. Full‑time, permanent, represented position (WPEA).
Location:
Olympic Region – Forks, WA.
Work hours:
flexibility may be available and considered.
Salary: $4,108.00 – $5,506.00 monthly.
Responsibilities- Process payroll and benefits, fiscal accounting & analysis; accounts payable, journal voucher, accounts receivable, and enter monthly equipment reports (MERs).
- Maintain bulk fuel inventory files and analyze data from reports to look for outliers.
- Assist with annual inventory/equipment count and database reconciliation, including updates and transfers to database records.
- Provide backup for Fiscal Analyst 1 and Fiscal Analyst 2 during absences to ensure problems are resolved, functions and deadlines are met, and critical or time‑sensitive work is completed.
- One year of relevant experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, or payroll; or a combination of relevant experience and/or education.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proficiency using a ten‑key calculator.
- Analyze and interpret financial reports.
- Collect and organize financial data in accordance with prescribed guidance.
- Prioritize tasks by importance and urgency to meet obligations.
- Organize files and maintain accuracy with attention to detail.
- Understand basic accounting procedures such as journal entries, debits/credits, and preparing supporting documentation.
- Apply internal policies and external regulations, including GAAP.
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Function in a high‑performing team.

- Position is in a shared office setting at the Olympic Region office in Forks, WA.
- Travel is minimal; occasional travel for training or voluntary participation in fire activity may be required.
- Associate degree with accounting, auditing, or budget management credits.
- Experience using Washington state financial systems such as HRMS State Payroll System, AFRS, FES, and/or Natur
E. - Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Power BI.
- Experience researching, interpreting, and explaining WACs, collective bargaining agreements, agency policy and procedures, and other applicable regulations.
