Director, Operations & Supply Chain Finance role helle Wine Estates (SMWE) located in Paterson, WA. This leadership position oversees financial planning and analysis for a $100M operations organization, including production, winemaking, and vineyard operations. Responsibilities include budgeting, capital investment analysis, COGS and inventory management, and partnering with business leaders to drive productivity, profitability, and operational excellence. The Director also leads and develops a high‑performing finance team while serving as a trusted advisor and catalyst for continuous improvement.

The candidate must reside within commuting distance of Paterson, WA and be willing to work in the office at least three days a week.
Job Responsibilities
- Budget management for a $100MM operations organization, including production, winemaking, and vineyard operations.
- Capital budgeting responsibilities, including project evaluation with NPV/IRR, identifying and driving returns, and performing analysis and post‑audit reviews.
- Evaluate and analyze COGS, including variances, and drive cost reductions and productivity improvements.
- Inventory monitoring and analysis, including establishing provisions and impairments; assist with liquidation efforts.
- Partner with business leaders to review results, identify opportunities, drive performance, and act as a catalyst for change.
- Lead and manage a finance team, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback to drive results and support employee growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced degree/certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain finance in a leadership capacity.
- Strong accounting and cost accounting background, including expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, inventory accounting, and financial performance reporting.
- Demonstrated experience leading operational transformation initiatives and driving productivity improvements, process optimization, and operating model changes.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including expert‑level Excel, financial modeling, and PowerPoint presentation development.
- Experience with Net Suite, JD Edwards (JDE), or other large‑scale ERP systems.
- Proven ability to take a hands‑on, results‑oriented approach, identify opportunities, influence stakeholders, and drive initiatives to successful completion.
- Highly detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality, including experience establishing and maintaining effective financial and spreadsheet controls.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
- History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, and fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
