Duties Help
* You will plan, schedule, assign, and direct the work of the Contracting Branch.
* You will establish priorities and deadlines of the Contracting Branch.
* You will review the work of subordinates.
* You will prepare workload forecasts, contract status reports, and metrics for submission to Deputy Contracting Officer.
* You will perform contract pre-award and post-award functions.
* You will supervise a group of Contract Specialists, Interns, and Procurement Specialists actively engaged in soliciting, awarding, administering, terminating, and closing out firm fixed price and cost type contracts awarded to various contractors.
* You will ensure that Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)-covered contractors comply with Cost Accounting Standards requirements and non-CAS covered cost type contractors provide adequate disclosure of direct and indirect costs and labor rates.
* You will ensure that Forward Pricing Rate and billing rates are negotiated and established with contractors in a timely manner.
* You will award and administer cost and fixed price contracts for U.S. Navy ship conversion and repair and other contracts awarded or administered by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Regional Maintenance Command. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition

and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* This position requires Incumbent must be mobile, duties frequently require visits to industrial work sites requiring walking, stooping, bending, crawling, and climbing ladders. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Contract Specialist leading and performing pre-award and post-award functions for a variety of complex contractual actions to include conducting market research, developing solicitations, evaluating proposals, negotiating terms, and administering contracts and modifications to procure supplies or services for an organization.
