Safety and Occupational Health Specialist

About the role

You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the INSTALLATION SAFETY OFFICE of NAVBASE KITSAP SILVERDALE WA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Performs inspections as member of a team of higher graded specialists assigned to an office to determine compliance with safety and occupational health laws and regulations.
• Conducts verbal entrance and exit briefings with managers, supervisors, and work leaders prior to and after surveys and/or inspections to explain the purpose and scope of inspection and pertinent safety and occupational health regulations.
• Surveys and/or inspects material handling, storage, maintenance, transportation operations, and support facilities for the purpose of determining adherence to established safety practices and program requirements.
