Position: INSPECTIONS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Shaw Island

Duties
* Administers MICT pre-inspection and post-inspection activities. Plans, implements, and oversees centralized control of coordinated unit/installation MICT program.
* Controls, administers, and maintains MICT data requirements for the unit/installation. Performs MICT administrator duties. Coordinates, effects development, and schedules MICT products, retrievals, and other programs.
* Develops strategies, guidelines, and procedures to conduct a comprehensive unit/installation MICT program, with considerable variety and scope.
* Prepares quarterly MICT review schedules for approval. Develops, coordinates, and obtains approval for MICT assessment activities.
* Represents the unit/installation in a wide variety of MICT assessment functions at meetings, in working groups, and other situations, including emergency management personnel in surrounding communities. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

* A bachelor's degree is highly desirable.
* The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
* The employee may be required to carry an electronic device (cellular phone/pager) to facilitate contact.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* The employee must meet and maintain training requirements as outlined in applicable DoD and AF regulations.
* Work may require access to classified information.
* The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for General Inspection Investigation Enforcement and Compliance Series, 1801. SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of complex inspection and/or compliance principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to conduct inspections, interpret complex policies/regulations, recognize and resolve discrepancies and/or inconsistencies among findings. Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the analysis and improvement of program effectiveness or the involvement of complex management processes and systems.

Knowledge of Air Force, MAJCOM, and unit/installation organizational structure, operations, and policies; and mission responsibilities of the many diverse organizational entities. Knowledge of Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century and leading continuous data-driven process improvement efforts throughout the organization. OR

EDUCATION:

Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

You must submit a copy of college transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
