* Job Description:
** - Perform diverse technical, clerical, and information systems procedures in:
- Chemistry - Hematology - Microbiology - Blood Bank - Specimen procurement - Analyze laboratory findings to ensure result accuracy.
- Enter medical test data and clinical results into a secure database.
- Set up, clean, and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and analyze slides and specimens of human blood, tissue, or other cells.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Establish and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure laboratory accuracy.
- Collect and analyze blood samples for cell count and morphology, blood group, and transfusion compatibility.
- Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids (blood, urine, spinal fluid) to identify normal and abnormal components.
- Help identify abnormalities in samples, such as malignancies, bacteria, parasites, or genetic issues.
- Assist in blood typing and routine blood tests as needed.
- Provide technical information regarding test results to physicians, family members, and researchers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

* Key Responsibilities:

- ** Organize and Manage Time (30%):** - Complete technical tasks efficiently within realistic time limits.
- Control laboratory equipment and adjust instruments for procedures.
- Utilize computers to operate laboratory instruments, calculate, record, evaluate, and transmit data.
- ** Analyze and Interpret Results (30%):** - Utilize considerable judgment to analyze laboratory results across all hospital and clinic laboratory areas:
- Hematology - Chemistry - Special Chemistry - Serology - Blood Bank - Microbiology - Urinalysis
- ** Maintain Instruments and Lab Sections (20%):** - Conduct scheduled maintenance on equipment and monitor consumables as assigned by the Lab Manager.
- ** Perform Specimen Collection (20%):** - Collect specimens from patients of all age groups, including:
- Venipuncture - Capillary draws - Culturing sites - Instruct nursing staff on correct sample collection methods.
