3 - 6 month Contract Monday - Thursday; 10 Hours 0930 - 2000;
Set Hours.
Must have active Phlebotomist License
findings to check the accuracy of the results.
· Enters data from analysis of medical tests and
clinical results into computer for storage.
· Sets up, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment.
· Work with laboratory equipment, helping to prepare and
analyze slides and specimens of human blood, tissue, or other cells.
· The MLT operates, calibrates and maintains equipment
used in quantitative and qualitative analysis, such as chemistry, hematology,
coagulation and microbiology.
· Establishes and monitors quality assurance programs
and activities to ensure the accuracy of laboratory results.
· Collects and studies blood samples to determine the
number of cells, their morphology, or their blood group, blood type, and
compatibility for transfusion purposes, using microscopic techniques.
· Analyzes samples of biological material for chemical
content or reaction.
· Conducts chemical analysis of body fluids, including
blood, urine, and spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal and abnormal
components.
· MLTs help identify abnormalities in the samples such
as malignancies, bacteria, parasites, or genetic abnormalities.
· May also assist in blood-typing, or other routine
blood tests.
· Provides technical information about test results to
physicians, family members and researchers.
· Other duties as
assigned.
