Job Summary
Environmental Services is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. The EVS tech uses soaps, germicidal detergents, and supplies to clean and sanitize designated areas, tools, materials, and equipment. The position ensures patient care areas are provided with clean linens.
Pay Range$20.67 - $28.84 per hour
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Cleans, disinfects and services all assigned areas. Dust, mop, wash walls, ceilings, windows, furniture, equipment, sinks, mirrors, doors, lights, toilets, showers, shelves, cupboards, vents, water fountains, garbage cans, and removal of garbage, patient‑related garbage, soiled linen and a variety of related duties.
- Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, accepts supervision from a number of persons and performs tasks despite frequent interruptions. Performs tasks with consideration for patients in the vicinity and always being aware of safety to patients, self and other employees. Initiates determination of cleaning tasks.
- Works under close supervision and performs standardized tasks quietly and in a timely manner.
- Position will be trained at all District Facilities and may rotate between clinics, hospital, and finance office as needed.
- Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Housekeeping experience, preferred. Hospital‑based experience preferred.
- Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to operate common tools and cleaning equipment.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling tasks that involve light, moderate and heavy weights.
- Standing, walking, bending, crouching and exposure to blood, body fluids (BBP).
- Vision and hearing within normal range, with or without corrective devices.
