Overview
Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (LDRP)
Department: LDRP Unit
Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule: Nights, 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:00)

SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for its LDRP Unit
. This role provides care for high-risk obstetric patients throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum process. The nurse will participate in high-volume deliveries (
200–300 per month
), manage intrapartum and postpartum patients, circulate for C-sections, and support both routine and high-risk deliveries.
- Provide comprehensive care to antepartum, intrapartum, delivery, and postpartum patients in the LDRP model.
- Monitor fetal and maternal well-being using EFM (External Fetal Monitoring) and IUPC placement/calibration.
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and triage obstetrical patients.
- Circulate and recover C-section patients.
- Administer high-risk medications including magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.
- Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and perform IV therapy/phlebotomy.
- Adhere to infection control standards and proper PPE use.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and education to families during delivery and postpartum.
- Support a delivery ratio of 1:1 intrapartum and 1:3 couplet care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe labor and delivery outcomes.
- Experience:
2 years of L&D required. Candidates with 1 year of L&D experience may be screened if employed at a facility performing ≥150 deliveries/month (must be documented in profile). - Must have strong high-risk labor & delivery experience.
- Must be Epic-proficient (Epic = Hard Stop requirement for AYA offer).
- Must be comfortable managing both L&D and postpartum patients in the LDRP setting.
- Willingness to work weekends as needed.
- No floating outside the unit.
- BSN preferred.
- Required:
Minimum 2 years L&D nursing in an academic/multi-facility setting. - Screenable: 1 year if high-volume delivery center (≥150 deliveries/month).
- Experience in high-risk antepartum and postpartum preferred.
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
- Compact license accepted where applicable.
- Required:
BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate - Preferred: ACLS
- Work Settings: LDRP, High Risk Antepartum, Facilities averaging 200–300 births/month
- Labor & Delivery Management:
Assist with high-risk deliveries, circulate & recover C-sections, intrapartum management - Antepartum Care/Procedures:
Sterile vaginal exams, triage obstetrical patients - Fetal Monitoring: EFM, IUPC placement & calibration
- Medication/Administration:
Anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy - IV Therapy/Phlebotomy:
Central line (CVC/PICC) maintenance - Professional
