Physical Therapist - PRN/Supp Odessa, WAJob Details
The PRN/SUPP Physical Therapist will be responsible primarily for In-patient coverage, but will have potential for outpatient coverage as well for administering physical therapy treatment directly to patients and/or supervising the delivery of treatments by Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) or Athletic Trainers, ensuring the highest standard of patient care. This PRN position pays $80 to $100 per hour.
Essential Functions- Patient Evaluation & Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients referred for physical therapy, assess their physical condition, and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical judgment and evidence-based practices.
- Administering Physical Therapy Treatment: Directly administer physical therapy interventions, including but not limited to exercises, manual therapy, and modalities, to achieve optimal outcomes for patients.
- Supervision & Mentorship: Supervise and provide guidance to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) or Athletic Trainers, ensuring proper technique, adherence to treatment protocols, and patient safety.
- Collaboration & Communication: Communicate effectively with referring providers, including physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive patient care and alignment with treatment goals. Maintain open communication with hospital, outpatient, or long-term care facility staff regarding patient status and care coordination.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

Education:
Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and strategies to manage symptoms or improve function. Provide instruction on adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and lifestyle modifications as needed. - Quality & Compliance: Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and industry standards for patient care, safety, and confidentiality. Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, including those related to healthcare billing and patient documentation.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuing education and stay current with the latest research, treatment techniques, and industry best practices. Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited university.
- Licensing: Must hold a current and active Physical Therapy license in the state of Washington.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapist. New graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
- Certifications:
- Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
- Completion of 7 hours of AIDS education/training as required by Washington State.
- Suicide Prevention training certification (or documentation of training completion).
- Experience in working with patients in [outpatient/acute care/long-term care] settings (specify depending on your environment).
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
