Position:
Mental Health Professional
Incumbent is responsible for providing services related to the delivery of mental health care assigned to clients at PSIS and will provide consultation, psychoeducation, and support services to school staff to ensure the overall mental health goals of PSIS.

- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work from an accredited college or university
- Licensed by the Washington State Department of Health as an Independent Clinical Social Worker without restrictions, or if licensed in a state other than Washington, must obtain Washington State licensure with the same guidelines within a 90‑day probationary period
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and eligibility for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance
- Verification of a negative TB test or x‑ray with negative results prior to employment
- Copies of diplomas, transcripts, licensure or registrations relevant to the position submitted by the closing date
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality standards concerning student records and communications
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Direct mental health service provision to predominantly residential students
- Facilitation of individual and group therapy as well as crisis interventions for the entire student body
- Provision of services on‑site within residential and school facilities and off‑site to include the student’s home support network
- Build partnerships with parents, guardians, social workers, and case managers to ensure the student’s best progress on a regular basis
- Delivery of education, awareness, and prevention services on topics such as anti‑bullying, harassment, anger and stress management, self‑esteem, grief, risky behaviors, depression, anxiety, all forms of abuse, drug and alcohol prevention and treatment
- Consultation for school staff regarding mental health issues including classroom and residential observation and appropriate service determination
- Regular attendance at staff and committee meetings at residential and school settings
- Active participation in the Student Services Team and other teams as designated by the Superintendent
- Liaison to tribal and community resources for short‑term and long‑term therapy, intervention, and advocacy
- Preparation of required reports to CFS, the legal system (including Tribal Police), and other agencies as needed
- Pre‑employment drug testing for safety‑sensitive positions per Tribal Policy
- Subject to reasonable suspicion and post‑accident drug testing
- Subject to pre‑employment background clearances, which must be maintained throughout employment
- Tribal membership and Indian preference will apply
- Preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified
