Medical Receptionist (2 Positions)
Salary: $20.55 to $25.03 per hour DOE
Reports to:
Medical Office Manager
This is a Non-Exempt position. The Medical Receptionist for the Colville Tribal Healthcare Authority is the first point of contact for patients at their assigned location. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring a smooth, positive and patient focused environment. The Medical Receptionist will perform their job duties in a professional manner while assuring that all the needs of the patients are met with a pleasant demeanor.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Certificate preferred in office administration, medical administration or related field
- 2 years of work experience in an office environment
- HIPAA and Privacy training within 90 days of employment
- Blood borne pathogen training annually
- CPR/First Aid within initial 90 days of hire
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License, insurable
- Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read English
- Proficiency with RPMS and EHR
- Proficiency with a multi-line telephone and good etiquette
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Well-developed human relation skills to convey technical concepts and give instructions
- Communicate technical information and interact with a wide variety of groups inside and outside the organization
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work processes in a high-volume environment to meet schedules and timelines
- Analyze data from multiple information ports, compare and contrast data to draw conclusions or identify trends
- Communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal formats while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language
- Takes initiative and is proactive to meet mandated deadlines and comply with goals and objectives
- Sit for long periods of time
- Manual and finger dexterity to complete duties
- Frequently bend, stoop, and reach
- Push and pull frequently
- Visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non-verbal behavior
- Speech and hearing ability to project voice, conduct telephone conversations, hear verbal communications and equipment prompts
- Drive in adverse weather conditions
Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. The position may be subject to pre‑employment background clearances mandatory throughout employment.
Pre‑employment mandatory testing may apply. Must accept pre‑employment drug testing, mandatory reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing for safety-sensitive positions.
Tribal Member and Indian Preference will apply. Preference will also be given to honorably discharged veterans who are minimally qualified.
