Job SummaryVictim of Crime Advocates will provide a culturally sensitive and trauma informed advocacy, and emotional support to adult or children who have been victims of crime. Provide advocacy services and support such as crisis intervention, resource referrals, safety planning, and coordination with law enforcement, health professionals, and community agencies for victims. Assist the Lead Family Advocate or Director with departmental work and special projects.
Compensation$25.31 hr.
Minimum Required Education- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associate Degree in Human Services or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- One (1) year of experience working with and advocating for trauma victims.
- One (1) year of experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
- One (1) year of working in an office environment.
- Typing- 30 WPM
- WA State Driver License. (Personal Auto Insurance)
- Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations (Abstract Required)
- Complete eight (8) hours of DEI Training.
* Will allow three (3) months to obtain. - CPR/First Aide Certificate.
* Will allow three (3) months to obtain. - Thirty (30) hours OCVA of culturally and/or linguistically appropriate initial sexual assault training.
* Will allow three (3) months to obtain. - Twenty-four (24) hours of Advocate Core training
* Will allow six (6) months to obtain. - Mandated Reporter training upon hire.
- Must be eligible to work in a designated Safe Zone per Title
4. Section 4.25.680. - Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
This is a Contracted position.
