The Washington State Department of Corrections is hiring a Corrections Specialist 3 (CS3) within the Reentry Division - CBI Unit. This position performs work at Clallam Bay Correctional Center (CBCC) in Clallam Bay, WA. The working schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m. Schedule may be adjusted based on participant availability, and work hours are subject to change.
The Reentry Division is responsible for the implementation of evidenced-based practices and the operational support to facilitate incarcerated individuals' participation in and/or to provide evidence-based and research-based interventions and promising practices/programs designed to decrease recidivism, while increasing the safety of staff, participants, incarcerated individuals and the public.
The Corrections Specialist 3 contributes to the Department's mission and vision by providing supervision, expertise and technical assistance to ensure delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Interventions in alignment with evidence-based practices; address participants risks, needs and behaviors; and support participant success in both prison and community-based programming as well as re-entry.
The Corrections Specialist 3 provides a lead role in the development, implementation, oversight and fidelity of all Cognitive Behavioral Interventions within the inventory of the Cognitive Behavioral Interventions unit at the facility. This position promotes agency cultural change by educating, training, and coaching staff; and analyzing and providing performance results to management and/or administrators.
The Corrections Specialist 3 will work collaboratively with other DOC programs and contract providers. This position will assist in determining appropriate program design, content, delivery, fidelity and outcome measures related to evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Interventions. Quality assurance involves the ongoing and accurate monitoring and tracking of reliable measures of program and intervention implementation. This position will assist the CBI Fidelity Unit in providing insight to the implementation and delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Interventions.

As a Corrections Specialist 3, some of your duties will include:
- Provides oversight for all Cognitive Behavioral Interventions (CBI's) within the inventory of the Cognitive Behavioral Interventions (CBI) Unit within the facility:
- Develops and maintains the CBI programming schedule for all CBI's within the inventory of the CBI Unit with the facility.
- Coordinates and resolves resource conflicts, identifies needs, and ensures all staff and materials pertaining to CBI programming are adequately supplied for self and additional facilitators.
- Screens and assigns participants to designated CBI program using approved criteria.
- Coordinates & participates in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings with unit team for participants falling below participation requirements or for any corrective interventions per the CBI staff handbook behavioral section.
