JOB SUMMARY

As part of our recent growth, we are seeking a Document Scanning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is expected to organize, prepare, and scan hardcopy documents into electronic file formats to meet record retention requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review documents for completeness and ensure all required information is present and legible prior to processing.
  • Prepare quality documents for imaging by sorting, removing staples, and scanning.
  • Operate scanning equipment to digitize paper documents and report equipment issues.
  • Inspect scanned images for clarity and accuracy to established quality standards, re-scanning pages when necessary.
  • Shred and dispose of documents in accordance with policies and retention requirements.
  • Index and organize scanned records for accurate retrieval and storage within a SharePoint database.
  • Retrieve records when requested.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge or experience working in an inclusive work environment, particularly those persons with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of and basic ability to use office equipment: computer, copier, scanner, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Requires clear vision for tasks that involve close-up work.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions in English or American Sign Language.
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English through verbal communication, American Sign Language, or adaptive technology

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
