Psychologist 4 Coyote Ridge Corrections Center

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Psychologist 4 for this position at Coyote Ridge Corrections Center located outside the Tri Cities in Connell, WA. Psychologist 4 is responsible for the provision and supervision of the Mental Health (MH) assessment and treatment services performed at CRCC by the mental health team. This position ensures that services provided are in accordance with DOC Policy, Protocol, and the WA DOC Health Plan.

In addition to providing direct patient care, the Psychologist in this position supervises master's level clinicians (Psychology Associates) in their delivery of mental health services and release planning throughout the institution to include Medium Security Complex (MSC), Restrictive Housing/intensive Management Unit, Close Observation, Minimum Security Unit (MSU) and Sage East.

This position participates in formal clinical oversight according to the Facility and DOC Health Services Clinical Oversight structure, including being clinically supervised by the Department's Chief Psychologist. This position works collaboratively with custody and clinical staff at CRCC and other DOC facilities to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Coyote Ridge Corrections Center has a diverse population seeing different chronic diseases and taking care of those that need long term and palliative care.

Duties to include:

  • Direct Patient Care – Provide psychological evaluations, diagnostic clarification, psychological testing, screenings, and evaluations.
  • Clinical Oversight – Provide clinical oversight and leadership to all direct reports.
  • Ensure staff under supervision have current Position Description (PD), Performance and Development Plan (PDP) and Expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:

One year of postdoctoral psychology experience.

Possession of a license to practice psychology in the state of Washington.

At least one year of experience working independently and effectively to develop resources linking client needs with resources within institutions and/or the community.

Preferred/Desired

Qualifications:

Three years of Postdoctoral Psychology experience, including one year of direct staff supervision.

One year of experience in forensic psychology, ideally providing psychological services in a correctional setting.
