Role Overview: The Physical Therapist Assistant performs treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being following a plan of care under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to state laws and supervise PT-approved treatment procedures.
- Instruct and assist patients with exercises, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
- Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT and healthcare team.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers within scope of practice.
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed or certified to practice physical therapy assistance in the state.
- CPR certification, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in diverse home environments and perform physical tasks like lifting and transferring.
- Availability for weekend rotations.
