Job Summary Plans, organizes, directs, and manages Medical Staff Services, including credentialing and privileging, provider enrollment, recruitment and onboarding support, medical staff governance, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and Student Learner programs. Provides leadership for department operations, staff performance, budget management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Serves as a key liaison between medical staff, providers, hospital leadership, caregivers, departments, external organizations, and regulatory/accreditation agencies. Promotes a positive provider experience and supports the medical staff and organization in achieving Summit Pacific Medical Center's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
* Essential Job Function
1. Department Leadership and Operations Provides overall leadership and accountability for Medical Staff Services operations, performance, service delivery, and regulatory compliance.
Supervises, develops, and evaluates department staff; manages staffing, performance, engagement, timekeeping, and competency.
Manages the department budget and resources and participates in organizational leadership and operational meetings.
Develops and monitors department performance measures, reports, and improvement strategies.
Maintains accurate records, data integrity, provider information, and effective use of medical staff technology and systems.
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
2. Provider Recruitment, Contracting, and Onboarding Coordinates and supports provider recruitment activities, including job postings, marketing, candidate screening, interview scheduling, travel, meals, rooms, tours, recruitment materials, and provider welcome activities.
Maintains recruitment status information and provides regular updates to leadership.
Participates in provider contract review and execution, coordinating communication and approvals among appropriate parties.
Coordinates provider onboarding from contract execution through payer enrollment and first-day readiness, including compliance requirements, system access, orientation, and facility integration.
Promotes a streamlined, welcoming provider experience throughout recruitment and onboarding.
3. Credentialing, Privileging, and Provider Enrollment Administers and manages timely and accurate credentialing and recredentialing for employed, contracted, locum, and other medical staff providers.
Performs or oversees primary source verification, application processing, background and regulatory checks, and related credentialing activities in accordance with CMS, DNV, medical staff bylaws, and organizational requirements.
Maintains efficient credentialing turnaround and accurate provider records, including licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, DEA registrations, board certification, and other expirables.
Administers medical staff privileging and ensures clinical privileges are supported by verified education, training, experience, and competency.
Coordinates OPPE and FPPE processes and supports peer review and practitioner improvement activities in collaboration with Quality, Risk, and medical staff leadership.
Coordinates provider enrollment with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, and other applicable programs to support organizational billing and reimbursement.
Reviews and follows up on NPDB, FSMB, WATCH, RHE, and other required credentialing and regulatory information.
4. Medical Staff Governance and Regulatory Compliance Provides administrative support for MEC, Credentialing Committee, Provider Leadership, Utilization Management, CME, and other medical staff committees and meetings.
