• Provide orientation, consultation, and support to clinical staff on pharmacy-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, tribal, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
• Interpret and implement changes in laws and regulations to maintain compliance.
• Integrate pharmacy services into the overall health care delivery system.
• Maintain a drug formulary through the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
• Supervise requisition, storage, and maintenance of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures covering ordering, storage, distribution, prescribing, and administration of medications.
• Maintain records and reports (manual and electronic) as required.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate billing and maximize allowable reimbursements.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in staff evaluations.
• Serve on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
• Reviewing medical orders for appropriateness, potential adverse reactions, and drug interactions.
• Consulting with providers on safe and effective medication use.
• Ensuring accurate preparation, packaging, labeling, and dispensing of medications.
• Providing patient counseling and education to improve understanding and compliance.
• Monitoring patient drug therapies.
• Training and mentoring pharmacy staff, interns, and students.
• Maintaining compliance with federal and state laws, including controlled substance management and safe storage.
• Removing expired medications and ensuring a safe work environment.
• Staying current on professional practices through continuing education and review of pharmaceutical literature.
• Serving as a key member of the healthcare delivery system and acting in the capacity of the Pharmacy Director when required.

• Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in the applicable state.
• Minimum two years of pharmacist experience preferred.
• Current state license as a Registered Pharmacist (must maintain in good standing).
• Valid driver’s license and insurability under employer insurance requirements.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in providing drug information and therapy consultations.
• Sensitivity to diverse cultures and traditions, demonstrating empathy and compassion in patient care.
• Skilled in ambulatory care pharmacy operations, including formulary management and policy development.
• Competence in dosage calculations, equipment operation, and use of pharmacy software.
• Professional phone and communication skills.
• Provide effective patient education and counseling.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and professional standards.
• Supervise and train staff effectively.
• Maintain professionalism under pressure and adapt to changing demands.

Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
