F&B Bar Assistant Manager
Assists the Bar Manager in operation and management of all bar and cocktail lounge areas. Provides assistance for personnel management, supervision of bar staff, staff activities and scheduling in conjunction with the Bar Manager. Performs duties while promoting Clearly Superior Customer Service.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Provides direct management support for all aspects of the bar operation
- Assists the Bar Manager with ordering liquor and bar/cocktail inventory
- Makes hiring and performance related recommendations to the Bar Manager and assists with the completion of employee performance evaluations
- Prepares all work schedules for all bar staff on a weekly basis with ultimate review by the Bar Manager
- Embraces and works towards maintaining a high functioning team whose emphasis is on customer service and professional conduct
- Works cohesively with the F&B Management Team to establish, implement and revise policies and procedures
- Works collaboratively with the F&B Management Team and other casino departments in planning of special events, for the protection of both guests and employees.
Secondary Functions:
- Promotes Clearly Superior Customer Service and inspires the staff to do the same
- Trains the Bar personnel consistent with established policies and procedures
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
Specific Job
Skills:
- Knowledge in all aspects of operating and running cocktail lounge(s) & bar(s).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with computers, cash registers or Point of Sale system
- Excellent guest and employee relations skills
- Excellent math skills
- Knowledge of all regulations regarding health and safety for employees and guests
- T.I.P.S. certified
High School diploma or GED required. Two (2) years' experience in bar management and sales. One to two years supervisory experience with previous supervisor/management coursework. Working knowledge of state liquor regulations required.
Working conditions include working in an office setting with a computer and other equipment. Other conditions include working in smoke-filled casino and banquet areas during busy times of the day and night and crowded conditions. Conditions will also include frequent interruptions, evenings, week-ends and holidays and require being on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended hours. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
