Lead Lift Operator

We are looking for a Lead Lift Operator to join our Lift Experience Team at Stevens Pass Mountain Resort. The Lift Experience Team’s mission is to provide employees and guests with a seamless end‑to‑end experience from the entrance to lift unloading. As a Lift Operations Team Lead, you will be responsible for the safe operation of resort lifts, overseeing staff within the Lift Experience Team, and ensuring courteous and efficient guest service.
This full‑time seasonal position offers competitive wages ranging from $22.00 to $29.22 per hour, 8‑10 hour days, weekends, holidays, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes free passes, ski lessons, a 401(k) retirement plan, employee assistance program, training and development, and more.
- Setting up one or more lifts every day and quickly developing a working knowledge of the lifts and work area.
- Training new employees in daily operating procedures.
- Leading the Lift Operators in assigned tasks and projects.
- Ensuring lift logs are complete and accurate on a daily basis.
- Coaching and developing the performance of assigned Lift Operators and assisting in employee reviews.
- Maintaining the overall appearance of assigned lift stations and staff, auditing station supplies and lift logs throughout the day.
- Ensuring all breaks are completed in accordance with Department Labor policies.
- Conducting and providing valuable input during morning/evening shift meetings.
- Adhering to all company and department policies and procedures and setting an example for others to follow.
- Being completely reliable and punctual for all assigned shifts, able to work unsupervised and delegate duties when needed.
- Participating in classroom and on‑the‑job training for lift operators and ensuring training documents are kept current.
- Performing other duties as assigned by department leadership.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1–2 years of previous lift or mountain operations experience.
- Physically capable of assisting guests while loading lifts; may lift up to 40 lbs.
- Fluent in English communication.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of inclement weather, standing and moving for the entire shift on potentially slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.
