Position: Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional 2024-25

Substitute Teacher

Rate: $130/day for substitute teachers $120/day for substitute paraprofessionals (aides)

Qualifications:

Valid and appropriate Illinois licensure (PEL, SUB, STS, or ELS/PARA w/ B.S. degree). License registered with the Regional Office of Education - 53 Regional Office 53 sub list registration Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), Sex Offender and Violent Youth Offender screening. Successful completion of a physical exam.

If you do not currently hold a substitute teaching license but would like to apply for one, please contact the Regional Office of Education in East Peoria.

Required Documents:
Once you have completed the application, please contact Mrs. Cox in the district office for an appointment to complete the necessary paperwork.

You will need the following:
The original approval letter from the ROE along with the criminal history reports from the Illinois State Police and FBI (to be completed at the ROE). A copy of the Statement of Physical Fitness from a physician. Copies of college transcripts Appropriate forms of identification as required for the I-9 - Employment Eligibility Verification form. (ex. Passport or Driver's License and Social Security Card).

Job Goal:
To maintain continuity in instruction and maintain good order wherever assigned To create classroom conditions conducive to a good learning situation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Follows lesson plans and instructions provided by the teacher. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning. Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school standards and school district discipline policies. Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters.
