Title:
Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional
Rate: $130/day for substitute teachers and $120/day for substitute paraprofessionals (aides)
Qualifications- Valid and appropriate Illinois licensure (PEL, SUB, STS, or ELS/PARA with B.S. degree).
- License registered with the Regional Office of Education – 53.
- Regional Office 53 substitute list registration.
- Successful completion of fingerprint-based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening.
- Successful completion of a physical exam.
- To maintain continuity in instruction and maintain good order wherever assigned.
- To create classroom conditions conducive to a good learning situation.
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the teacher.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.
- Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school standards and school district discipline policies.
- Adhere to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school-related matters.
