Position: Senior Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineer/Trainer, F-35 Program

Senior Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineer/Trainer – Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Team as part of the F-35 Program. This position establishes and directs a training system and/or conducts classroom and practical instruction to provide technical knowledge for the safe maintenance, repair, and operation of aircraft, aircraft systems, ground equipment, tools, test equipment, stores and facilities, according to established procedures. It may analyze current operating problems and future operating requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs.

It writes, edits, and produces materials for technical instruction. It provides assistance and support to all divisions in helping them determine their training needs and develop and conduct their maintenance training programs. It monitors the maintenance of company-wide training programs. It maintains currency in technical developments and audiovisual techniques, including the maintenance of company aircraft instruction manuals. It coordinates all required technical training and outside contract sales technical training programs.

Responsibilities

This position establishes and directs a training system for the F-35 Program, provides classroom and practical instruction, and supports company-wide maintenance training programs.

  • Coordinates the F-35 Flight Test maintenance and logistics training program at Edwards AFB
  • Monitors the annual certifications for over 200 employees
  • Facilitates with local and off-site trainers to schedule initial and recurring training; conducts training for Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and Fall Protection
  • Provides inputs to the Training Management System (TMS) and Learning Management System
  • Ensures smooth transition during all future ALIS and TMS software version upgrades
  • Serves as the training point of contact for all internal and external audits and is responsible for providing corrective actions plans
Basic Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following basic qualifications:

  • University-level education: a Bachelor's degree with 5 years recent aircraft maintenance experience within the last 12 years, OR at least 8 years recent experience in aircraft maintenance without a Bachelor's degree
  • At least 1 year of experience conducting formal training in a classroom setting
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • F-35 maintenance or training experience
  • Classroom training experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
  • Experience with DCMA 8210.1C, OSHA, AFOSH, and state safety/health regulations

Must be a United States citizen, possess at minimum an interim Secret security clearance, and be able to obtain a final Secret security clearance.

Salary and Benefits

Pay rate ranges vary by state. For California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC, the annual base salary is $77,700 – $136,965. For most major metropolitan areas in the same states, the range is $89,300 – $154,905. The salary range reflects the candidate’s location, responsibilities, experience, and other market factors.
