RN- OLGMC Med Tele- Nights

Ochsner Health seeks an RN who exemplifies the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes, and maintains sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.

3 12-hr shifts per week: 6:45 PM-7:15 AM; rotating weekends

• Required – Registered Nurse Diploma
• Preferred – Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

• Required – None

• Required – Current RN License in the state of practice
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Preferred – Certification in clinical specialty area

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and related software packages.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills; self-directed.
• Demonstrates good judgment.

• Effectively uses the Nursing Process in patient care delivery.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other disciplines.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Embraces concepts that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and nursing professional improvement.
• Adapts behavior to the patient population, respecting privacy and tailoring communication.
• Other related duties as required.

Includes lifting up to 50–100 pounds occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, and/or 10–20 pounds constantly. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, hazardous medications, and contaminated waste. Requires standing, walking, and patient care activities.
