Sales Associate; Part-Time - Sporting Goods - Washington, IL

The Sales Associate assists customers throughout the retail store, providing excellent customer service, greeting customers, handling cashier duties, answering product questions, assembling products, maintaining store housekeeping, and managing other duties as assigned by management. The Associate should have knowledge of firearms and be able to accurately complete all required FFL procedures for sales of firearms, requiring an FOID card. Must be at least 21 years old.

Pay Range: $15.00–$16.00 depending on experience.

• Greet customers as they shop in the retail store, assisting with customer service questions.
• Price store merchandise and make price changes as requested by store management.
• Stock and face merchandise on shelves as requested by store management.
• Assist in receiving freight and organize incoming products as directed by store management.
• Assist in cycle counts.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and handle appropriately.
• Handle customer transactions utilizing the KCX cash register system.
• Accurately handle cash and maintain cash register balances.
• Handle customer returns.

• Housekeeping duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Long periods of standing.
• Frequent bending and twisting.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with FFL requirements for the sale of firearms is strongly preferred.

• Retail store environment with cold and warm conditions.
• Irregular work schedule.

Computer, calculator, cash register-scanner, telephone, fax, copy machine, computer software and network.
