Position: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Job Description

Daviess Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to fill a PRN position at our Quick Care Clinic. The role requires educating patients and families on medications, diseases, treatment plans, and procedures for a diverse patient population, collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver optimal care and ensure good outcomes.

  • Develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
  • Educate and guide patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Understand changes in health promotion throughout the aging process.
  • Display knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan and provide age‑appropriate care.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
  • Manage overall patient care concerning lifestyle and developmental issues.
  • Emphasize preventative care and disease management.
  • Communicate appropriately and clearly with coworkers.
  • Prescribe medications using appropriate references.
  • Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.
  • Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
  • Revise the plan of care based on patient response.
  • Complete computerized documentation in patient charts within the required timeframe.
  • Apply clinic policies and procedures, performance improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
  • Current Nurse Practitioner License or current Physician Assistant license.
  • Current BLS certification. ACLS certified.
  • Confidence in diagnosing, treating, educating, and assisting patients of all ages to manage illnesses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident with EMR documentation and computer skills.
  • Experience preferred but not mandatory.
