The Educational Technology Supervisor leads the implementation of the district’s educational technology vision, supporting effective integration of digital tools to enhance teaching, learning, emergency preparation, safety, and district operations. The role combines hands‑on technical support with leadership in instructional technology, professional development, staff supervision, and emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead the district’s vision for educational technology aligned with instructional goals and student learning outcomes, and support its implementation.
- Create policies and procedures for technology use and artificial intelligence.
- Guide integration of emerging technologies and promote equitable access to resources.
- Collaborate with district and building leadership to align technology with curriculum and operational priorities.
- Facilitate technology committees at district and building levels.
- Design and deliver professional development on technology, cybersecurity, and AI integration.
- Coaching and modeling best practices for educators and staff.
- Develop training resources, workshops, and support materials.
- Train department staff and other personnel to ensure operational continuity and redundancy.
- Promote best practices in digital citizenship, responsible use, and data privacy.
- Coordinate the operation and maintenance of district technology systems with internal staff and external vendors.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage the technology ticket queue, resolving support tickets.
- Support system upgrades, device lifecycle, inventory, and project implementation.
- Oversee technology surplus process and Verkada management.
- Assist with emergency preparedness and response systems, including lockdowns, safety communication, and camera systems.
- Collaborate with safety personnel to ensure technology supports emergency protocols.
- Support district cybersecurity practices, data protection, and user awareness.
- Coordinate training and awareness activities related to cybersecurity.
- Assist in coordinating technology initiatives, tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Supervise and evaluate technology department employees.
- Provide guidance and coordination of staff, support onboarding and professional growth.
- Assist in establishing departmental procedures and workflow priorities.
- Monitor expenditures, purchasing, and inventory management.
- Work with vendors for service delivery, procurement, and maintenance.
- Identify cost‑effective technology solutions aligned with district needs.
Required
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in information technology, educational technology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting or leading technology integration or professional development for staff.
- Experience overseeing projects.
- Experience providing end‑user technical support.
- Basic understanding of technology systems and digital tools in educational settings.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity awareness and data privacy best practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create digital workflows.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or related field.
- Experience in K‑12 educational environments.
- Leading professional development or training initiatives.
- Familiarity with AI applications in education.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Google, Microsoft, CompTIA).
- Position Type:
Full‑Time - Contract:
260 Days - Salary: $84,118 to $91,052 Per Year (2025‑2026), $86,305 - $93,419 (starting July 1, 2026).
- Benefits:
Medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance through SEBB*. - Vacation: 10 days per year, up to a total of 20 days.
- Sick/Personal Days: up to 12 sick days per school year and up to 3 personal days per year.
- Retirement:
Two plan choices available with DRS (Plan 2 and Plan 3).
