Job Summary:
The job of Technology Services Director was established for the purpose/s of providing leadership, direction, and oversight of the District's technology systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical security systems, data services, communications systems, and technical support operations; ensuring reliable, secure, and effective technology and security services that support student learning, staff safety, and District operations; leading technology planning and implementation efforts; managing technology personnel, budgets, vendor relationships, and security technologies;
ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations; and supporting the District's strategic goals through the effective use of technology and security resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership, direction, and operational oversight of District technology services, including infrastructure, network operations, wireless systems, radio communications, enterprise applications, data systems, cybersecurity, physical security systems, and technical support services.
* Develop, implement, and support District technology and security initiatives, strategic plans, and projects aligned with instructional, operational, and safety priorities.
* Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, security, scalability, and recoverability of District technology infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, servers, cloud services, devices, telecommunications systems, and related technologies.
* Oversee the administration, operation, maintenance, and security of District physical security technologies, including electronic access control systems, employee keycards and credentials, security cameras, video management systems, visitor management systems, emergency notification systems, and related technologies.
* Develop and implement standards, procedures, and controls governing employee, contractor, and visitor access to District facilities and technology resources in collaboration with District administration and facilities personnel.
* Oversee District radio communications systems, emergency communications technologies, and related safety systems to ensure operational readiness, reliability, and effectiveness.
* Ensure effective cybersecurity and physical security operations through monitoring, vulnerability management, risk assessment, incident response, security awareness training, and adherence to established security standards and protocols.
* Develop, implement, and maintain emergency communication, technology recovery, and incident response plans.
* Lead technology and security projects, including system deployments, upgrades, process improvements, infrastructure enhancements, surveillance systems, access control systems, communications systems, and facility technology improvements, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
* Direct technology service delivery and support functions to ensure responsive, customer-focused service to students, staff, schools, and departments.
* Collaborate with District leadership and stakeholders to identify instructional, operational, and security requirements and ensure technology systems effectively support organizational goals and compliance requirements.
* Ensure effective training, communication, and user support for technology systems, security systems, applications, data tools, and reporting platforms.
* Assist in the development and administration of the District technology budget; monitor expenditures; and recommend resource allocations aligned with District priorities.
* Develop, evaluate, and oversee technology and security contracts, vendor relationships, service agreements, and procurement activities in accordance with District policies and procedures.
