A self‑motivated Help Desk Specialist will provide second‑tier support to end‑users for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware under general supervision. Responsibilities include troubleshooting operating difficulties, interacting with network services and software engineering, simulating or recreating user problems, recommending system modifications, and maintaining up‑to‑date technical expertise.
Responsibilities- Provide second‑tier technical, operational, and training support to PC desktop users via telephone or onsite interactions.
- Install, configure, and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals; load OS, imaging, and shrink‑wrap software.
- Diagnose hardware and software issues, coordinate repairs, and resolve system problems including LAN component interactions.
- Evaluate system configurations and software, recommend improvements, and document solutions.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Minimum 5 years PC/Desktop/IT support experience.
- Active CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ certification (at least one).
- Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (e.g., A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA‑Security).
- Must obtain appropriate DoD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment.
- Experience supporting Windows 7, Windows 10, MS Office 2013, Office 365, and Remedy or similar ticketing systems.
- Proficiency with Windows 10, Windows 7, Active Directory, imaging, and desktop troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple IT areas and work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience maintaining Lexmark, HP, or Ricoh printer devices.
- Prior USACE/ACE‑IT or DoD environment experience.
Pay range: $28.86 – $33.65 per hour.
