SUMMARY

The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x‑ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)
  • Produce high quality x‑ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.
  • Provide proper radiation protection measures.
  • Work with the EMR’s to generate and complete exam orders.
  • Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning the work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program or equivalent, required.
  • Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
  • R.T., C.T., or willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation.
  • Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice, required.
  • BLS required, or obtain within 6 months of hire.
