The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x‑ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)- Produce high quality x‑ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.
- Provide proper radiation protection measures.
- Work with the EMR’s to generate and complete exam orders.
- Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.
- Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning the work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.
- Completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program or equivalent, required.
- Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
- R.T., C.T., or willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation.
- Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice, required.
- BLS required, or obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to maintain safe and effective patient care.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Active listening skills to interpret the needs of the patient.
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, direct and empower team.
- Handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Work independently.
- Flexibility in schedule; willing to adjust hours as needed and cover other shifts.
- Highly motivated.
- Work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environment; triage situations to complete tasks.
- Effective time management.
- Analytical skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
