Position: Full Time Nurse-RN/LPN *NO WEEKENDS*

Overview

Position: RN/LPN in a long-term care setting at United Presbyterian Home, Washington, IA. Full-time position with no weekends. Salary range: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour. The role involves implementing the nursing process for total resident care, supervising nursing personnel, and providing skilled nursing, with emphasis on critical thinking, interpersonal communications, and supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute the medical care plan as it relates to nursing, delivering skillful, thorough, organized, and safe nursing care.
  • Abide by UP Home policies and procedures and communicate them to personnel, residents, staff, and the public.
  • Communicate resident status to families, physicians, and other health care members.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for individual nursing judgments and actions.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
  • Participate in efforts to establish and maintain conditions conducive to high-quality nursing care.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of nursing observations and care.
  • Evaluate resident care provided by self and other team members against recognized needs of each resident.
  • Keep other personnel informed of significant changes in resident condition or any unusual care problems.
  • Pursue continuing professional development through inservice meetings, continuing education courses, and professional meetings.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current license in the State of Iowa.
  • Previous experience with geriatric patients desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of medical, social, and psychological needs of residents in this community.
  • Willingness to perform non-professional duties.
  • Ability to supervise and instruct others.
  • Well-groomed, courteous, tactful, patient, kind, and pleasant when dealing with residents and staff.
  • Acute sense of responsibility and cooperative, enthusiastic spirit to foster rehabilitation and growth.
