Modern Standard Arabic; MSA Interpreter; CAT TU Centcom

Summary

The Unconventional (TU) is seeking exceptionally qualified MSA Interpreters to provide support with foreign language interpretation, transcription, reporting, and translation services.

• Provide oral interpretation and perform basic military tactical and administrative clerical work such as drafting correspondence, coordinating meetings, and research as required.
• Analyze source conversations necessary to accurately document conversations and activities.
• Follow units during CONUS and OCONUS travel and conduct field operations.
• Provide interpretation, transcription, and translation services as required by the supported elements.
• Attend specified sites depending on mission requirements.
• Function as an integral member of a team.
• Perform such other duties as are customarily performed by other persons in similar positions and as assigned by the employer.

• Experience and skill in MSA and English translating/interpreting, transcribing, and documenting conversation.
• Professional working proficiency in MSA and English, at a 3/3/3/3 level for listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Industry recognized certification proving language proficiency for contract support.
• Experience providing consecutive interpretation between English and MSA native speakers.
• Skill to quickly and effectively translate between MSA/English & English/MSA in a large group setting while discussing one or more topics.
• Familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with local culture and customs.
• Ability to function as an integral member of a team of professionals.
• Availability to work a minimum of eight (8) hours a day up to twelve (12) hours a day, five (5) days per week up to seven (7) days per week, and may work on official holidays.
• Valid passport or ability to acquire one.

• Prior military experience.
• Previous experience in the CENTCOM region supporting U.S. and/or partner nation activities.

Must pass a background check.

Designated CONUS and OCONUS locations.

CONUS and OCONUS travel is required.
