This attorney, working in the Legal Affairs Department, will represent T-Mobile and provide counsel to business units and Human Resources on employment and labor-related legal matters, with a focus on the Retail line of business; prepare and review legal documents including pleadings, briefs, position statements and other filings in pre-litigation and litigation, with a focus on employment arbitrations; and assist with other matters as needed.
Whatyou’ll do in your role
- Provide practical, day-to-day employment-law counseling to HR and other internal clients to identify and manage employment legal risks.
- Engage and work with outside counsel to manage employment litigation (primarily employment-law arbitrations) and administrative proceedings with a focus on creative strategies, cost reduction, and efficient resolutions.
- Prepare responses to agency charges and demand letters.
- Develop and review written HR policies, guidelines, templates, and forms.
- Develop and deliver legal training to HR and other internal clients.
- Provide employment law advice regarding internal investigations.
- Advise and help clients understand employment-law compliance issues.
- Counsel and advise clients on a wide variety of complex and developing employment-related legal and business issues.
- 2-4+ years of experience as an employment attorney, with relevant in-house and/or top law firm experience.
- Minimum 4 years, prefer 6+ years, of experience handling litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and other employment-related claims, with a focus on employment arbitrations.
- Exposure to international employment law, labor relations, or ERISA is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and effectively despite ambiguity and rapid change.
- Excellent writing skills, with a focus on providing practical advice.
- Amazing oral communication skills, with a focus on clearly and simply conveying complex employment law concepts, risks, and options to HR and other internal clients.
- Strong judgment to weigh what’s best for customers and the business, employees, and potential legal risks.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to collaborate with other legal and business professionals in a complex organization to deliver results efficiently.
- Keen business sense with negotiation and drafting skills.
- Ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and balance multiple priorities.
- Must be licensed, in good standing, to practice law in the US.
- At least 18 years of age.

Base Pay Range
: $123,200 - $222,200. Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The actual starting pay will vary based on location, qualifications, and experience.
