Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

Colfax Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead clinical operations in Colfax, Washington—a tight-knit Palouse community where people know each other, work hard, and take pride in caring for their neighbors. This is a place where leadership is visible, trust matters, and your impact is felt every day.

Colfax offers a slower pace, wide-open landscapes, and a strong sense of community. It's ideal for leaders who appreciate simplicity, connection, and purpose—without sacrificing professional challenge. Here, you're not just leading a department; you're becoming part of the community.

As the CNO, you'll serve as the clinical leader and CEO's trusted partner, overseeing nursing operations, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance. You'll bring structure, clarity, and consistency to systems while fostering a culture of ownership, teamwork, and pride in the work. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being present, building people up, and setting clear expectations.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Motivated and self-directed — you don't wait to be told what needs fixing
  • Process-oriented — you value structure, follow-through, and sustainable systems
  • Accountability-driven — you set clear standards and support your team in meeting them
  • People-focused — you lead with respect, visibility, and approachability
  • Resilient and practical — comfortable making decisions and owning outcomes
  • Committed to quality and compliance — survey readiness is part of how you operate, not a scramble

You'll lead:

  • Nursing operations, staffing, and clinical outcomes
  • Quality improvement, survey readiness, and regulatory compliance
  • MDS processes and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Staff development, performance management, and retention
  • A culture rooted in trust, responsibility, and person-centered care
