About the Project & Career Growth OpportunitiesLocated in the stunning coastal community of Seabrook, Washington, we are breaking ground on an exciting new golf destination. Our initial phase features a highly anticipated 12-to-15-hole Par 3 short course, currently in the clearing phase and targeting a grand opening in April 2028. This is just the beginning, our long-term vision includes the ground-up development of 1 to 2 offsite championship courses.
A Role Built for Growth:
This position starts as a Part-Time role focused on early-stage construction oversight and agronomic planning. As the project progresses into full earthmoving, grow-in, and operational phases this role offers a direct pathway to transition into a Full-Time Superintendent position. We are looking for a visionary leader who wants to build this program from the ground up and grow alongside our expanding footprint.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Construction & Site Oversight: Act as the on-site agronomic representative during the clearing, shaping, and construction phases to ensure site readiness for our April 2028 opening.
- Contractor Management: Manage and oversee external contractors during earthmoving, drainage, irrigation installation, and seed/sod preparation.
- Grow-In & Turf Establishment: Develop and execute a comprehensive grow-in plan tailored to the unique Washington coast environment.
- Team Building: Actively recruit, hire, and train an in-house maintenance crew as the project transitions from construction to grow-in and active operations.
- Strategic Expansion: Lead strategic planning, agronomic forecasting, and ground-up development for future offsite championship courses.
- Hands-On Leadership & Safety: Perform physical labor as required, serve as a champion of PPE and safety usage, and execute infrastructure, construction, and related projects as assigned.
- Autonomous Problem-Solving: Work independently to identify root causes, troubleshoot operational challenges, and keep timelines on track.
Performs work independently with a high degree of autonomy under the general supervision of Seabrook Land. Candidates must be self-motivated, self-supervising, and capable of prioritizing tasks to meet construction and progress milestones. Strong leadership skills are required to supervise internal team members, external contractors, and future turf maintenance staff.
Education & Experience- Required: Degree or Certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Required: 3–5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Senior Assistant Superintendent.
- Required: Washington State Pesticide Applicator’s License (or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Preferred: Direct experience in new golf course construction and grow-in phases.

Qualifications:
Heavy equipment operating experience; bilingual English/Spanish capabilities.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments subject to changing coastal weather conditions, including temperatures below 32°F or exceeding 90°F.
- Regular exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud equipment noises.
- Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods; physical dexterity to operate specialized tools and equipment.
- Driving a vehicle across property sites to conduct work assignments.
- Reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting/carrying/pushing objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Clear visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
