Machinist – Weekday Night Shift – Algona
Precision Castparts is hiring a Machinist for the Weekday Night Shift in Algona. The role involves operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machines, ensuring safety and quality standards, and meeting production targets.
ShiftWeekday Nights:
Monday‑Thursday, 3:20 pm–1:50 am, with a $2.50 per hour shift differential.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand, adhere to, and demonstrate the company’s commitment to safety and quality.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance according to shift times or a pre‑arranged work schedule.
- Able to run multiple types of machines.
- Perform setup and production for machine cells and standalone CNC mills.
- Show proficiency with multiple machine and control types.
- Set‑up the first part on the machine as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
- Set‑up and run the firstილის part after completion of machine set‑up.
- Verify program is stable and part is within tolerance for run.
- Verify all set‑up documentation is correct and adequate for part run.

- Ensure correct work orders, programs, and documents are being used for current operation.
- Help troubleshoot basic production problems.
- When not assigned a set‑up or production, spot check parts and deburr finished product.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Clean the machine at the end of each shift and organize all parts and tools for the next shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3–5 years of related experience; preference for heavy manufacturing environments.
- Proficient at reading and understanding M & G code.
- Ability to read precision measuring instruments and shop production blueprints.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions during production and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Basic understanding of machine set‑up; advanced knowledge preferred.
- Machine shop experience and/or on‑the‑job training.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work across departments to meet product quality standards efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to write simple correspondence.
- Willingness to learn and, as required, help and/or train others.
- Stand for long periods, walk, sit, and climb occasionally.
- Lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Visual acuity required for close detail work and color discrimination.
- Mental dexterity needed to work independently with attention to detail.
- Perform tasks such as spot checking parts, deburring, and maintaining a clean work area.
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional training or certification undertaking preferred.
Hourly pay range: $26.50 – $53.00 USD. Eligible for the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan with a 1X factor based on quarterly performance. Employees receive 120 hours of paid time off annually, 10 paid holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and access to the 401(k) plan.
