Summary:

This position is responsible for the full cleaning and sanitizing of all production equipment at end of production, as well as maintaining the daily cleanliness of the production area including machine parts, supporting structures, floors and walls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble and assemble all equipment as necessary in order to perform required cleaning and sanitation
  • Properly follow SSOPs and Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Safely use, transport, and store all cleaning chemicals and tools
  • Clean offices, lunchroom, and bathrooms
  • Perform general housekeeping including mopping, sweeping and garbage collection
  • Submit purchase requirements when needed
  • Accompany QA Technician during pre-operation inspection and perform cleaning/re-cleaning where necessary
  • Making sure that all the sanitation technicians are following the procedures in compliance with the HACCP program, BRC and FSMA
  • Have ownership of the Master Sanitation

    Schedule:

    - Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. Keep detailed records of all sanitation related activities and issues, such as inspections and violations, also notating how and when each situation was resolved.
  • Implement and delegate new clean-up procedures when required.
  • Responsible for scheduling and/or monitoring of daily housekeeping, master cleaning schedule, weekend work schedule and other nonfood contact areas in the plant.
  • Monitor and operate scrubbers, foamers, and chemical dispensers
  • Direct supervision of Sanitation Leads and their shifts employees.
  • Coordinate between Production, and Quality on daily basis.
  • Coordinate removal of waste and recycling from facility
  • Complete all relevant cleaning documentation
  • Participate in relevant sanitation training
  • Follow proper procedure for organic cleaning requirements
  • Communicate all issues/areas of concern to manager
  • Other duties as necessary to support production

Education:

Minimum High School

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years related work experience required.
  • Experience and knowledge in food sanitation operations, procedures, chemicals and program standards, preferably in a general food or manufacturing industry.

Skills:

  • Leadership competencies that lead and inspire others – drives for exceptional results. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Read and understand chemical labels.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimal. Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and allergen requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Handle chemicals in appropriate manner.
  • Ability to climb a ladder or work from a scissor lift.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Must be available to work rotating shifts: days, afternoons, nights.

• Must be available to work weekends.

• Must be able to lift approximately 30 lbs.

• Must be able to stand/walk for majority of shift.

• 100% of work involves being in the manufacturing environment.
