Schedule

Mon-Fri 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM

Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in Seaport Steel's safety program.
  • Accurate interpretation of information provided by the customer.
  • Filling customer orders accurately, ensuring the correct material, quantity, and tolerances.
  • Maintain the records of completed orders.
  • Operate a press brake machine following project details and blueprints.
  • Set up the machine for bending sheet metal.
  • Programming experience is preferred. Candidates without full programming experience must be able to make minor program adjustments.
  • Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of settings and detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Inspect the first part, consult with quality assurance, and inspect work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and dial caliper; ensure quality products are produced according to project specifications.
  • Comply with all applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.
  • Perform deburr operations, panel gluing, and layup.

  • Education and Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, 4 plus years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Communication: Writes and speaks effectively; communicates clearly and concisely; demonstrates openness and tact.

  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, fractions, and decimals.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet applications.
  • Machine Knowledge: CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting table.
