Responsibilities- Set up and operate automated bagging and scale equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate and maintain packaging equipment to ensure efficient and safe production of high‑quality products.
- Monitor production lines and make adjustments to meet company standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
- Maintain accurate production records and report issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Minimize film and carrot waste, monitor weight control, maintain equipment sanitation, and follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Check metal detector, X‑ray, and weigher every 30 minutes.
- Meet daily production schedules and case demand attainment.
- Ensure bag quality: proper seals, code dates, graphics, and registration.
- Keep work area orderly, clean, and uphold housekeeping practices.
- Cooperate with the production team to meet production goals.
- Assist in changing bags and loading correct film as needed.
- Follow safety procedures: lock‑out/tag‑out, body mechanics, and compliance with company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Complete scale and bagger training and pass final exams.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Complete lock‑out/tag‑out awareness training.
- Proficiency in using packaging equipment and tools.
- Obtain certification on bagging and scale machines (e.g., Triangle, Pacmac, Ishida).
- High school diploma or equivalent, or one‑year related experience and/or training.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Effective communication in English (written and verbal).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet production goals.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience operating packaging equipment in a food production or manufacturing facility.
- Prior experience with Triangle, Pacmac, Ishida scales, or similar equipment.
- Experience with automated packaging equipment.
- Experience in the food or beverage industry.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Environmental exposure: cold/wet conditions (40 °F or below).
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
- Lift, slide, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods and for long periods.
- Ascend and descend ramps, steps, ladders, and saris using three‑point contact.
1st Shift: 6:15 AM – 5:00 PM. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time‑off schedules may also be required.
