Quality Control Technician

The primary function of the Quality Control Technician is to assure that production and prototype assemblies meet customer and industry standard specifications as required. Inspect in-process and final assemblies for conformance and provide timely and appropriate feedback to Team Leads and Production Assemblers. Strive to improve product or processes in both quality and efficiency in accordance with the CII Quality Management System.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Apply customer specifications, IPC 620 standards, and industry standards, read schematic drawings/ BOM's and correctly identify critical specifications and assembly build requirements to assure electronic assemblies manufactured at Custom Interface, Inc. are compliant with customer or industry specifications.
  • Use electronic, and mechanical test and measuring equipment such as digital volt meters, calipers, micrometers and programmable circuit testers to further verify assembly compliance.
  • Adhere to Custom Interface, Inc. policies and procedures related to Quality Control.
  • Use Quality System for the logging of RMA work, NCM issues and DMR returns to suppliers.
  • Maintain all records and documentation as required.
  • The performance of all duties will be in compliance with Custom Interface, Inc. Quality system processes and procedures.
  • Audit & Complete FAIRS.
  • Perform all other duties as requested by the Quality Systems Manager.
  • Research and enter data necessary to perform all posted duties.
  • Request for, or inquire about any necessary documentation required to further clarify requirements of production assemblies.
  • Compose the necessary documentation to return to production assembly table leaders.
  • Return to table leaders any production assembly found to be non-conforming with manufacturer and/ or customer requirements.
  • Ability to stop work when requirements are not met or to declare an item as non-conforming.
  • Ensure customer specifications, IPC 620 standards, and industry standards are interpreted correctly according to schematic drawings/ BOM's and those critical specifications are identified to assure that Custom Interface, Inc is compliant with industry or customer specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • AA in electronics or related experience preferred.
  • Preference given to individuals with prior experience working as a test or repair technician in an AS9100 or equivalent quality system environment.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

  • MS Office application knowledge.
  • Self-directed with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Effectively communicate policies and procedures.
  • Professional written and verbal communication is strongly desired.
  • Ability to remain focused for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in English verbally and written.
  • Ability to interpret customer drawings per ASME Y.
  • Working knowledge of passive electronic components and IPC/WHMA-A-620A standards.
  • Working knowledge of AS9102 FAIR processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision equal to or corrected to 20/20 on a Snellen Eye Chart.
  • Demonstrate ability to differentiate between colors.
  • Work 8 – 10 hours per day in a standing and/or sitting position.
  • Demonstrate eye/hand coordination to satisfactorily manipulate small parts/objects.
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Custom Interface, Inc. manufactures defense articles and provides services using technical data that is controlled under International Traffic in Arms Regulations, as set by the U.S. State Department. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. Working Conditions:

Custom Interface's facility is a manufacturing environment where temperature variations exist from opening doors to the outside environment, smoke particulates from soldering and other manufacturing operations frequently occur and there are occasionally noise levels that require hearing protection.
