Machine Shop Tool Room Manager

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Tool Room Manager to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley and Hamilton, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Machine Shop Tool Room Manager is responsible for overseeing all tool room operations of the Machine Shop. This role ensures that tools, materials, and equipment are available, maintained, and managed efficiently to support production schedules and operational needs. The Tool Room Manager serves as the primary owner of tool room processes, driving accuracy, organization, and:

  • Tool Inventory Management & Planning
  • Tool Inspection, Maintenance & Reliability
  • Tool Room Operations & Workflow Coordination
  • Systems & Data Management
  • Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Communication & Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Other Duties

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a machine shop or tool room setting
  • Strong knowledge of machine tools, mills, cutting tools, and industrial equipment
  • Demonstrated experience with tool inventory management systems and data-driven decision-making
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and carry tools and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be safety-oriented with a solid understanding of shop safety practices
  • Ability to operate a forklift or other material handling equipment (certification may be required)
  • Must be willing and able to obtain government-issued security clearance

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $40 - $60 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
